What I Loved In December

*Find the exact top here.

December started out with a bang with a concert, a drag show, and 2 holiday parties followed by a trip to the Miracle Bar pop-up downtown with the girls. Exhausted doesn’t even begin to cover how I felt at the end of the week and a half of this month.

Sleep deficit aside, the Jinkx and Dela Holiday Show was amazing. It may have even been better than last year’s show. I got to experience it with my friend Lauren who is still binging her way through past drag race seasons so she really appreciated the amazing talent of Jinkx and Dela as well.

Austin and I saw Allister in concert at The Recher Theatre. I hadn’t seen them in nearly 20 years! Their set was amazing. Their album Last Stop Suburbia is one of my all time favorites so I was so excited to see them again!

One of the absolute most amazing parts of the month was getting to see The Starting Line. They were my favorite band for a while when I was younger. We had an amazing spot in the center of the room and the energy was amazing.

We met up with friends for cocktails at Bluebird (I recommend the Hansel & Gretel) and then walked up the street to check out this full decked out house. How cute are all these decorations?!

The rest of the month we spent with houseguests or just chilling and I didn’t do an awful lot that involved photo taking. Christmas was what Christmas always is every year (when there isn’t a raging global pandemic). Christmas evening we ate the pre-made meal from Planta and while it was nice to not have to do any cooking (just warming), I don’t think the food was as good as what we make ourselves. It was fun to try someone different though. I took PTO the last week of the year and really focused on relaxing. We watched shows we hadn’t got around to yet, saw the new Avatar film, and got some things done around the house. That week flew by way too fast. On New Year Eve, in an odd twist, we somehow spent most of the night watching football and I didn’t actually mind it much. We watched the ball drop and then hit the hay. Perhaps not the most glamorous NYE, but I enjoyed it.
