Life in the Time of COVID-19 | Week 24
I ended week 24 in a rather physically uncomfortable place. I decided to start the Chloe Ting 2 week shred challenge midway through the week and I can say with 100% confidence that my body was not ready. It’s going to probably end up being more like a 3 week challenge for me because I need to take more frequent rest days. After day on of the challenge my upper back hurt so bad I had trouble sleeping through the night. After day 2 of the challenge I could barely walk because my quads were on fire. Day 3 and 4 aligned with the weekend, which is when I would normally take my rest days so I bumped them up early and decided to pick it back up again on Monday. If you’re a potato like me, picking up these workouts with no build up to them is a major struggle. That said I AM going to finish going through the whole program, even if it takes me a little longer than 2 weeks. I think the first 2 days of the challenge serve as amazing proof as to why I really needed to diversify my workouts.
This week I finally got my first ripe Chinese 5 color pepper! I took a bite of this bad boy and let me tell you, its the exact perfect amount of heat I was hoping for. Once I get more ripe peppers I’m going to make hot sauce. I’m so excited about this particular plant. There were several weeks where I thought we weren’t going to get anything to harvest from this plant so now that its really thriving I couldn’t be more pleased.
On Friday FedEx delivered up a massive box and neither of us knew what the heck it was. Once Austin opened it up it was clear that work had finally sent me a new computer set up. My work computer has been dead for 2 weeks now. It has a booting error is won’t turn on. I’ve been having to access all of my work systems through a roundtable online portal, which was not a great experience. I was only expecting a new laptop so when I saw there was a monitor and docking station full set up I was blown away,
Another fun delivery I got this week was from Will’s Vegan Shoes. I am so happy with the quality of this faux-leather jacket. If you’re looking for one I definitely recommend this one.
Our garden is still producing like crazy and I was able to harvest my first bell pepper. Our poor bell pepper plant was definitely an under-performer, but it finally started sprouting 3 little peppers.
I feel like my updates are so becoming repetitive but this is my life right now – workout, work, garden. The heat of summer is starting to calm down a bit so I’m planning to spend more time outside heading into Fall. I’m so pumped for when pumpkins start to trickle into the farmers market. I’m gonna be making all the pumpkin stuff!
My thoughts in summary on this week:
1. I need to pay more attention to my Poshmark account. I shared my posts a lot this past week and was able to make 2 sales.
2. We are finally getting our bare patches in our yard seeded and I’m so pumped for those patches to be gone.
3. The world is such a mess right now. I haven’t even processed how to talk about it yet, but fuck.
