Surprise! Austin and I are engaged!
I will have several videos coming out over the course of the next year leading up to the wedding, which will be October 13th, 2018, to share with you guys my wedding planning process, my aesthetic and our engagement story. Be sure to keep an eye out on my Youtube channel for those.
With all that fun news out of the way I’m so so happy to share with you guys some of my favorite shots from our engagement photo shoot. Our engagement shoot was included as part of our wedding photography package. We are using Nikole Ariel Photography, who is not only a phenomenal local photographer but also a friend from high school.
I chose the Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore City for our photo shoot location. I lived in the city for a quarter century and literally never knew this place existed. My parents’ house is maybe 2 miles from this gorgeous space, but its completely tucked away off of a street I would never have a reason to drive on. I saw pictures of the tree you can see in the photo above while Goolging Baltimore engagement photos and something told me this was absolutely the place we needed to have our photos done. Best gut decision ever. Going into the photo shoot I was nervous that we wouldn’t be able to capture the fall aesthetic I desired for these pictures since our photo shoot was in early December. I really wanted leaves in these photos! Luckily, we were able to get quite a few lovely backdrops and Nikole was able to make every scene look so dreamy.
Austin had my ring customized based on a design already available in-store at Smyth Jewelers. The band is rose gold lined in diamonds. The main stone is a cushion cut and the halo is pink diamonds.
