Review: Laqa & Co. Fat Lip Pencil in Wolfman
Posted On April 10, 2014
Hey yall hey! We need to talk. I received this Laqa & Co. Fat Lip Pencil in the color Wolfman in my April 2014 Wantable box.
I was actually rather excited to try this out. I’ve heard about Laqa & Co. on YouTube and the color looked so pretty in the tube. Also, Wolfman is kind of an awesome name. I swatched the pencil on my hand and though the color wasn’t richly pigmented, the pencil did give off a small amount of color and was quite glossy. I thought it would be a perfect color to keep in my purse and swipe on if I was on the go or out and about.
I put on the color this morning and was instantly let down. There is no glossy finish. And the faint amount of color does not even tint my lips. The product gives my lips an almost chalky look. My lips don’t feel dry, but they look like I’ve been living in the desert for a month. What?! That makes no sense. I cannot speak about the other colors in the Fat Lip Pencils range, but Wolfman is atrocious.
There are a few other smaller details I didn’t care for about the product as well. The twisting component on the bottom of the pencil was really loose. I could see this easily twisting itself up while chilling in my purse and squashing the product into the lid. My next gripe, and it’s admittedly minor, the name of the color was on the box, but is not actually on the pencil itself.
You guys, I am glow-in-the-dark pale. If this super light color doesn’t look good on me, then who the hell is it supposed to look good on? This was a complete product fail. And it retails for $18. That is a complete joke.
AND, if the fact that it sucks wasn’t enough of a let down, I know for a fact that this is no new addition to the Wantable box. CoffeeBreakwithDani received this exact same color in her February 2014 Wantable box. That just makes me feel like I’m getting recycled, old products that they’ve clearly been trying to get rid of for months. I am going to keep purchasing Wantable because I liked some of other products in my box, but that just feels super shady to be given a product that people were receiving months ago.
Have any of you tried the Laqa & Co. Fat Lip Pencils? I would love to hear about how they have worked out for you!
