Review: Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Eye Pencil in Black Velvet

I feel like I don’t really need to review this eyeliner because everyone has tried an Urban Decay pencil liner and (for the most part) everyone loves them, but it did come in my Ipsy bag and the Black Velvet is newer so I did want to talk about it a little bit.

The liner is smooth and creamy. I read that there is jojoba oil in the formula so that probably contributes to how easily it glides on and how comfortable it is to wear.

The color is black. It’s not the blackest black, but it’s black enough. It doesn’t look gray so that’s all that matters.

I used the liner in two different ways to make sure it was versatile. First I used it for  smudgy look on my top and bottom lash line. I made the mistake of putting a heavy line on my lash line before smudging out. It’s not necessary. A little bit goes a long way to create a great smudged look. I also used it in my water line. It lasts for hours, at least 5 before the color washed away just a little bit.

Overall, this is an awesome liner. I wouldn’t buy it individually, only because I think the Urban Decay liner sets are a much better value. Right now online there are two different liner sets on Ulta and Sephora. The sets just make more sense to me financially, then buying just one liner on its own. Realistically, I won’t need to buy black eyeliner for a while since I also got one in my Birchbox and already had one anyway. I am really glad I received this in my Ipsy bag, though. Ipsy really does try to give you great products.
