Today’s outfit of the day post is actually from last week. I needed to wear my new Target booties immediately. I am thoroughly obsessed with them and can’t wait to wear them with everything. There were actually a few flats at Target that I wanted to go back and check out for work. I work in an office two days a week and at a boutique the rest of the week so since I’m standing most of the week I try to only wear flats to the office so my feet can be comfy on my non-standing work days.

Whenever I wear more than one black piece I worry that my outfit its going to be way too dark even if I have a pop of color. I’ve never been a huge fan of all dark all the time. I like to have a more colorful, sweet approach to style. I feel like anything that looks too dark and serious just doesn’t look appropriate on me with my wavy, whimsical hair. That’s not to say that I don’t like dark looks, I just don’t think I can really pull them off very well.

And while we are already talking about my hair I just want to add that it’s in major need a revamping. I just need to do something with it. My hair has just been super bland lately. I know I need a trim desperately, but I’ve been putting it off because I know I want to do something else too it as well. I just need to figure out what that “something else” will be. Maybe darker, or reddish, or back to bright blonde? I need a direction because I’m in a major hair rut.

Anyway, back to my outfit. Can you believe the day I wore this I went to the mall for the first time in what seemed like a million year and I only spent $5. I was so proud of myself for being responsible and staying completely away from the stores I knew I would spend major cash in. Austin and I went to Victoria’s Secret so I could use my free panties coupon, and to Bath & Body Works so I could use a free candle coupon. The only thing I bought was a Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin hand sanitizer for my desk at work because I’m almost out of my current hand sanitizer. I really wanted to go downstairs to H&M but I resisted.

It’s hard not having the same income to spend as before, but I’m so much happier than I was at my old job. It also causes me to be a bit more thrifty which is really why I started my blog in the first place. I wanted to show you could be fabulous and not have to spend a ton. It makes me really happy to know everything featured in this post was inexpensive, on sale, or bought at an outlet. I feel amazing getting back to my roots.
