Last night I was feeling particularly crafty so I made this cute D.I.Y. ribbon bulletin board. I had this idea stewing in my head for a while but hadn’t had the time to create it. With my room freshly cleaned it was time to embark on this crafty journey.
To make this fun personalized wall decoration you will need:
- Something to use as a backboard
- Multiple different ribbons in different colors and textures and prints
- A hot glue gun
- Hot glue sticksJust few side notes: I used an old street sign as my backboard because I collect them and have a lot of them. If you don’t have some random cool flat thing laying around to use you can cut out a piece of cardboard to the size you want and spray paint it or glue a cool fabric over it to give it more interest. Also I ended up needing 7 pieces of ribbon for each direction across the board, but this number is going to vary depending on the size of your board and how spaced out you want your ribbons to be. The hello kitty “ribbon” was actually an old shoe string so use whatever you have around your house and be creative! The instructions are pretty easy. Lay out your ribbons, one horizontal side at a time, measure them, and cut them to the appropriate size. Once your ribbons are cut, doing this one horizontal size at a time, place your ribbon where you want it and hold it tight at the edges while you flip the board. Hot glue down the first end of the ribbon. Pull the second end nice and snug and then hot glue down that end as well. Its that simple. Do this for each of the ribbon strips and in about 20 minutes you will have a really cool hand made bulletin board.
I hope you guys liked my little craft and give it a try!
